What Causes Bumps Around The Hairline?

I have symmetrical bumps on the back of my head near the hair line. They protrude a fair bit and are about the size of a small marble! I seem pain free but a little tender when pressed quite hard. I ve never noticed them before but I ve been suffering from an itchy scalp for past few months and became aware of them recently.
