What Causes Bumps Around The Vagina After Unprotected Sex?

In April, I had unprotected sex twice with a boy. 4 days later I noticed that I had bumps around my vagina. Me being stupid, I ignored it and it went away a few days later. 2 months later I started experiencing a yellow discharge with bad itching. I then got the confidence to go to the doctor and ended up positive with Chlamydia. She gave me azithromycin to cure it but after a few weeks it didn t clear. She gave me another dose and it still hasn t cleared. So I did some research and noticed that the bumps weren t a symptom, and started realising that I have some of the symptoms for herpes. I m so scared and don t know if I m just freaking myself out. Wouldn t my doctor notice if I had herpes instead of chlamydia? I m so freaked out :( please help

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Consult a gynecologist and get evaluated. We have to rule out possible causes like STD.

As of now, you can use clotrimazole lotion to cleanse your genitals. A vaginal swab may be required in case of diagnostic confusion.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
