Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have irritable pus like bumps on my vagina and the lips of the vagina. I do not shave and it seems like I m balding down there. I am not sexual active. I do not understand why this is happening. I wash everyday and dry completely. What am I to do and what are they?
Hi Thanks for writing in. From your description, you seem to have a bartholin gland cyst or abscess. Treatment can vary from only providing you with antibiotics to surgical abscess drainage. It's nothing to worry too much about. Only a minor infection of the bartholin glands that are present in the female genital area. The 'Balding' can occur due to a localized skin infection.
Unfortunately, such infections do sometimes occur even after taking best precautions and following hygiene measures.
I would advice you to visit your gynaecologist to decide the further course of action.
Hope this helps! Please feel free to write back for any more questions that you may have.
