What Causes Bumps On Behind Ear And Neck Along With Soreness In Throat And Headache?

I am wondering if I have shingles I have bumps on the right side of my back ear and neck. I went to urgent care sand the doctor was not sure because I did not have a temp or sore throat or headache and I did not have any pain, that was Monday night. Now, I do have some soreness in my throat as well as a slight headache but no pain and no temp. Please help! My primary care cannot see me unrt next week. I am a 58 year old female.

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of bumps on behind ear and neck along with soreness in throat and headache which is due to lymph node enlargement in that area. There must be some dental infection in your mouth either a carious tooth or improper hygiene which is spreading infection in head and neck region. It could be due to blockage of salivary gland duct in that area could be a major cause for your condition. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit an ENT specialist once and get this swelling examined and lab tests to be done to rule out thyroid related issues. After proper examination, FNAC or any further investigation will clear diagnosis for your condition. You should maintain complete hygiene. Take course of antibiotics to subside infection.
