I've seen an ENT who thinks I have salivary gland issues. On both sides of my neck, I have bumps that are more noticeable when I yawn; then they enlarge even more. I've tried, on the advice of the ENT, sucking on lemons, applying heat, and messaging the areas, but that has not helped. This all started over a year ago when I fell asleep in my husband's truck and my head fell back onto the headrest. I felt pain in the right side of my neck when I woke. Ever since, the bump has been growing larger and, now, the other side has also been affected. The ENT suggested a CT scan, but would an x-ray work better, or an ultrasound; he wasn't keen on either.
