What Causes Bumps On The Neck, Chest And Hands After Taking Prednisone?

Hi I have a skin rash all over my Nack, chest and hands. The hands have scanned and gotten better. I went to,urgent care and they thought it was poison ivy and gave me prednisone but now I,have the bumps,all,over my back. They don t hurt just super itchy.

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of bumps on the neck, chest and hands after taking Prednisone . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like contact dermatitis , skin infection , eczema, bug bite and other medical condition. If it is not getting better with prednisone then it is very important to find out trigger factor . Need not to worry. I would suggest you to stop using any cosmetic product. You should only apply petroleum jelly and protect your skin from sun exposure and apply broad spectrum sunscreen when in exposure to sun. You should take over the counter antihistamine medication like benadryl. Consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor will examine physically , take history , order skin test for allergy and blood test. Doctor may order corticosteroid ointment, anti allergic medicine, antibiotics and may alter the dose of zolpidem or prescribe substitute.
