Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, My name s DeMarquis Parks and first off thank you for your time. For a number of years i have been experiencing a somewhat burning, bruising pain in the center of my chest plate or at least directly in the center of my chest over the heart. Now i m not one to freak out without probable cause, however this pain has been with me as i ve mentioned earlier for a long time now. The affected area really begins to hurt so much worst when for example, when i lift my torso up from laying down, and when using my arms to push or pull myself up to stand. I want to believe that perhaps there s maybe strained muscles in that area from coughing too hard one day years ago that never subsided. Yet another concern is this pretty sizable lump directly underneath my left pectoral muscle. There use to never be pain there but recently last year there have been a pulsating pain almost in like a perfect diameter sprouting underneath that lump. I ve had a doctor a couple years ago say it could be an ingrown hair however there has NEVER been hair on my chest in that area nor on the right side of my chest. You can definitely feel the lump and you can move it in either direction when rubbing your finger over and around it...So in other words i highly doubt it s an ingrown hair. I ve had the before elsewhere but never there or like this lump because if it were an ingrown hair then there should ve been a white head emerge to the surface of my skin then i could remove the hair with tweezers. I look forward to hearing from you doctor and again thank you very much for your time with this issue.

Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query.Your problem is most likely costochondritis. But it is better to rule out other conditions like heart problems. You should have an ECG to rule out heart problems.Ultrasound examination should be done in case of suspetion.A chest also should be carried out out to rule out problems associated with lungs. For costochondritis i treat with anti inflammatory gels like diclofenac or nimusulide for local application.I also give the tablet forms of those for oral intake if pain is more.In case of no relief i advise local injection of cortocosteroids or anesthetics.Hope this may help you. Let me know if you have any further query.
