What Causes Burning And Tingling Sensation In Hand While Smoking Methamphetamine?

Im an iv meth user, A couple days ago.., I was out of insulin points so I used a very thick barrel, thick long point that twist off...at first when I saw it , I said to my self, ouch , its going to hurt! , indeed it did, not only that by the time It registered I had slide the entire needle in (the size of my pinky) in the back of my right hand, I pulled back the plunger and pulled in some blood so I figured it was in , now when I started to push liquid in my vein i moved the point which caused me to miss...I screamed when I felt my hand burn and tingle and pulled back the point and registered it again pulled out the plunger and here we go round two...same thing happened, but this time i let a horrific scream out , tears running cross my cheeks and a sudden numbness overrided the burning tingling sensation..i was exhousted it drained me, i felt weak and it took me a bit to get my composer. My hand immediatly swelled up like a balloon and turned red and is warm to the touch, its been two days and my hand is still swollen and the red is spreading, im afraid to go to the doctor, for ovious reasons, please help.

Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the meth shot has been passed in the subcutaneous space as the vein was out of the tract during injection shot. The extensive redness and swelling indicates severe underlying inflammation and cellulitis stage.

I recommend an ER visit without delay as this may turn up into
- Extensive infection
- Localised abscess
- Gangrene
- Systemic sepsis with high grade fever, low blood pressure and else
Primary relief with ice application and keeping the hand elevated in arm sling till consultant waiting.
