What Causes Burning During Sex In Spite Of Taking Medicine For Yeast Infection?

Hey Doc, I just got over a yeast infection. I took an over the counter medicine from walgreens for it (tube with cream) the directions said to use it for 3 days. The fourth day I had no symptoms and decided to have sex. It was very painful and burned so bad! The thing is it also burned for my partner. Am I not 100% healed? Should I wait, or go-to my obgyn as soon as possible?
