Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband, who was diagnosed about 10 years ago, has been on metoprolol(25mg) for a few years. Our doctor cut the pill in half (still 2x/day) and now feels that he has a burning in his chest a period after taking same; however, he did not take any yesterday and had the same burning. He has been on levadopa for several years and 81 mg aspirin - the only meds. Could the metropolol be causing the burning?
Hi The burning sensation in the chest is likely to be due to gastric acid. Take Cap. Omeprazole 40mg once daily for 2 weeks. Do not go to bed immediately after taking meals, avoid hot, spicy & oily foods. Do not take a heavy meal after 8pm, avoid overeating & keep your body mass index in a normal range. Thankyou for contacting healthcare magic. Take care
