What Causes Burning In Vagina After Taking Penicillin?

I m taking penicillin prescribed to me today (I have taken 3 pills, 6 hours apart, I m supposed to take 4 a day) and after I urinate my vaginal area burns a little and I have a brown watery discharge. I m not due for my period for another week. Should I be concerned?

Hello,

There is nothing to get concerned. It might have changed the pH of urine to acidic causing burning. Plus, when taking antibiotics, there might happen candida overgrowth that might also cause burning in uro-genital area. Take plenty of fluids. Discuss with your caring doctor to start treatment with anti-fungals. Plus, take probiotics and urine alkaliziners to stabilize urine pH.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
