Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a cold a couple weeks ago and other than waking up stuffed up in the mornings it s about gone. Than today I choked a little on a piece of toast and received a terrible burning in my chest while trying to cough it up. My chest is sore but not like that burning. Than again this afternoon I sneased and the same thing burning all through my chest and back. Now my chest feels very heavy and sore but it is not hard to breath and it sounds clear when I take a deep breath.
As per your query you have soreness in your chest along with burning sensation . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons but in your case it seems to me that symptoms are due to acid reflux . This occur due to dysfunction of esophageal sphincter , which allow the acidic content of stomach to come upwards . This acidic content create problem like burning sensation in chest ,. I would suggest you to avoid eating spicy and heavy meal specially at night , eat at least one hour before going to bed , take light walk after every meal and take antacid after every meal . Consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may order endoscopy and X-ray of upper digestive track along with other tests . Doctor may prescribe drugs like omeprazole and ranitidine . Doctor may also refer you to cardiologist if he find problem to be related with heart
Hope your concern has been resolved.
