What Causes Burning Pain In The Arms Along With Weakness?
I have a friend, who is a 50 year old male who is informing me that he has burning pain on his elbow and then descends to top of his foot, when it stops in one area it goes to another area. Currently the burning pain is at his lower back. It has been going on for 2 weeks. He states it feels like a sunburn. He states when he lifts with his arms, he feels weak and arms feel painful and sore. Also states he is not diabetic. HE was asked to fast a year ago and found no diabetes. BP is within range. He currently is not on medication. He has 1 kidney due to being a organ donor. Ray is an employee of mine. He is waiting on his insurance cards. Can you advise?
This can happen when the position of the body compresses the brachial nerve or the nerves in the neck. The fact that it got better in a while, confirms that and I think it is nothing to worry about.
If this happens again, then maybe you need a softer bed or a different pillow. But most probably it was just one night.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
