What Causes Burning Pain On Knee Cap After A Minor Injury?

About two months ago I fell on the tennis court. My knee is fine when i run or walk but when I kneel there is a sharp burning pain. I can feel a little something on the top of my knee cap that when I press it, it burns. Wonder how I can make this better!
