What Causes Burning Rashes On Children After Playing In Water?

After putting sunscreen on a 9 year old and going into the ocean, and a 6 year old and going into the swimming pool, both developed a burning rash. I tried washing it off with Ivory, then putting on aloe. Both times the burning got worse. Eventually, the burning goes away, but not the rash. Happened two days in a row.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is the sensitivity to content of the cream causing allergic skin eruptions with burning rashes over skin of both the children. I would suggest to avoid the same content of cream for second time application or else can consult an expert dermatologist for finding the sensitivity pattern via certain skin tests .

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
