What Causes Burning Red Face And Swollen Eyes After Sun Exposure?

Hi, I was suntanning yesterday and when I got inside, my face was bright red, burning, dry, and my eyes started to get very swollen. I ve tried icing, aloe, and cucumbers but I see no difference. This morning I woke up and my eyes were so swollen that I couldnt see, please help.

Hello,
Thanks for the query,

There is nothing to worry these symptoms can go away easily . This is the reaction of sking towards UV radiations of sun . It is also known as photoallergic reaction.

Apply ice packs to affected area several times a day .

Take anti inflammatory like ibuprofen or acetaminophen.

Take anti histamine drug benadryl .

Avoid sun exposure .

Use high SPF ( 30 or 50 )sunscreen while in exposure of sun

Drink plenty of water
