What Causes Burning Sensation After Taking Antibiotics?

Age:29, Gender: Female Hey there! 4 days ago, I had a skin infection on my face and was given an antibiotic shot as well as steroid cream and two other antibiotics. About 20 minutes after taking the first round of antibiotics I got a sudden itch/burning sensation Which I assumed to be a yeast infection. I called the doctor and told her and she called me in a pill to take that would take care of the yeast infection. It got better for two days and now It constantly feels like jellyfish is stinging my labia.. the constant pain only started today but has been coming and going for a few days. I do not have any itch, discharge or other signs of a yeast infection. Bathing in heated water seems to make it worse as well as steroid creams and urinating. Current medications: Adderalxr, zyrtec, amoxicillin, Tmp/Smz DS antibiotic, clonetazol propeonate steroid cream Height, Weight, BMI Height (cm)     BMI     Weight (Kg)     Edit 161.54     55.18     144.00     Edit | Remove Attached Files:

Hi,

The jellyfish-like stink can be most probably due to infection only and as you are taking antibiotics it can be most probably due to yeast infection in the vagina.

So my suggestion is to consult a Gynecologist and get evaluated and a clinical examination and vaginal swab culture can be done for confirmation.

For now, you can apply an anti-fungal ointment like Candid vaginal gel and can also maintain a good hygiene. If a fungal infection is confirmed you can be advised antifungal medicine like Fluconazole oral pills and also vaginal tablets.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
