What Causes Burning Sensation Along With Swelling In The Throat?

I am a 43 y/o male. My throat has felt increasing thickness and discomfort like a burning for four months now. My throat feels to dry quicker on occasion and the musculature on the left side appears thicker. I take no medications and have no diagnosed medical conditions.
