Hi, I have a failed cervical laminectomy c5-t1 Ive been having intense itching in the upper and mid back area that starts out with a burning sensation. I m concerned in that my arms have been intermittently going numb from my shoulders to my hands lately. Should I contact my neuro surgeon?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Numbness of upper arm indicates neurological symptoms. You have a history of cervical lesion in C5 and failed surgical procedure. It has to be first seen by neurologist. It infact is a good idea to see the neurosurgeon, even if these may not be neurological symptoms.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions.
Regards,
Dr. Akhtarhusain
