What Causes Burning Sensation And Numbness In The Elbow?

I was stung in the left hand forefinger in knuckle. By a sail cat (catfish salt water) my hand is burning and I feel numb in left elbow aahnd forearm. Should I worry about traveling further up arm. I did have a heart attack a year ago that s what I am worried about

Hi there,

I'd recommend soaking your arm in water as hot as you can stand it for as long as you can, as many times as you can. This will help to denature any toxins. But it has to be really hot. Benadryl may also help to decrease the inflammation. If the redness continues despite these treatments, I'd recommend seeing a doctor as you may have an infection (cellulitis) that may need antibiotics. But I'd try these two measures (heat and Benadryl) first.
