What Causes Burning Sensation And Pain In The Nostril?

My nose is burning inside the left nostril towards the outside or towards my left shoulder, and it hurts when touched around the end or where it flairs out, this has been like this for a month no bleeding. If I push my nose towards my face it really hurts like pins and needles, but no bleeding but it will start to make thick white snot which actually makes feel a little better ?

Hi,

Noted your history of burning on left side of nose and removal of white thick snot helps.
This is most probably a classical condition called collumellitis in which there is infection and chronic inflammation of the nasal Ala and the corner made by the septum with Ala.
The commonest cause if nose pricking habit, usually occurs in people with stress and anxiety.
Another possibility is chronic rhinitis.
Atrophic Rhinitis.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Consult an ENT Surgeon for proper examination, nasal endoscopy and the disease will be diagnosed.
The treatment may be in the form of an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory medicine.
Stop handling the nose or pricking to be specific as this is a habit known to cause most of the problems.
