What Causes Burning Sensation And Red Bumps In Lower Pelvic Area?

I have had a burning sensation in my upper bikini area/ lower pelvic area. Two days after I shaved my bikini area as I do weekly and still have a pretty intense buring sensation with small non raised red marks or bumps. They do not appear to be fluid filled. I have been using aleo Vera to soothe the burn and have not shaved in 3 days. Should I be concerned it s something else like an std?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to HCM.

Burning and red bumps over skin of lower abdominal skin or genital region needs to be inspected at least to arrive at a certain conclusion.

It could be due to dermatitis or candidiasis or any other allergic skin relation but without actual examination of the skin lesions,it is very difficult to comment or rule out any STDs.

So,in my advise, you should go for clinical examination by dermatologist for proper diagnosis first.

Meanwhile, you may take treatment like moisturizer creams ,use cool compression, wash genital regularly using sorbolene cream instead of soap.

Avoid using talcum powder, irritant soaps, bath oils etc.

Regards,
