What Causes Burning Sensation And Swelling In The Rectum?

MY SON IS 11 YEARS OLD AND HAS A BURNING SENSATION ON THE SIDE OF RECTUM. THE AREA IS SLIGHTLY SWOLEN AND HARD AND HURTS TO TOUCH. I APPLIED HOMEOPATHIC CLAY AND BATH AND THERE IS IMPROVEMENT. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR THE PAST WEEK AND HE HAS BEEN HAVING ISSUES SITTING AND WALKING. WHAT COULD IT POSS BE? PARASITES ? HEMROIDS? IS IT POSSIBLE FOR A CHILD TO HAVE HEMMROIDS?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for your question.

I do understand your pain and discomfort.

As per your history is concerned it is called anorectal abscess and it is not a haemorrhoid as there is no bleeding history.so give a higher antibiotic orally(Amoxicillin and clavulanic acid)full course for infection and hot massage for pain. Do a physical examination by your local doctor if it resolves or not.

I hope I was able to address your query. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to write to me.

Wishing you all the best.

Thanks
