What Causes Burning Sensation During Urination With Blood In Urine?

I went to a minute clinic for burning while urinating since Friday, 6-17, and she said it looks like I have a urinary tract infection. There was cloudy urine, presence of infection. There was also a significant amount of blood in my urine, which she said is likely while I am on my period, which I am. I was not experiencing any other pain beyond burning while urinating. She checked my blood pressure, (which she said was pretty quiet, but 117 over 63) temperature (normal), heart rate, normal, no tenderness in pelvis or lower back. However, now that I am home, my right kidney is starting to ache and also throb some times. I m also feeling run down. I took my first dose of antibiotics when I got home and started feeling run down and kidney pain about 30 minutes later. I have drank at least 128 oz of water today. Have eaten nothing out of the ordinary.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be urinary tract infection. As of now you can go for a urine routine examination to look for any bacteria or pus cells in the urine. Most cases respond well to antibiotics.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
