What Causes Burning Sensation During Urination With Presence Of Blood In Urine?
Hi Doctor, I feel this burning sensation when urinating thought not consistent but usually in the morning when the urine is more voluminous and faster. I also have these patches of stains and I think its blood mixed in my urine, because my urine smells different now. But before it started I remember bruising my duct outlet with a dry towel accidentally though I can t see any physical sores. I m scared its an STI but I don t have sex very often.
Many people find drinking cranberry juice helpful but you would still need to see a doctor in person.
The doctor would do certain tests to help you reach the diagnosis. Tests that are needed are Urine examination, Ultrasound or X-ray of the abdomen, liver function, and kidney function tests.
The results of this can help to get to the cause. Treatment would depend on the cause. UTI and STDs can be treated with medications while a Kidney stone may need surgery.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Vignan Rachabattuni
