What Causes Burning Sensation Ears After Using Covancaine Ear Drops?
Mt daughter has grommets. It seems the one is infected or blocked.she has had them for 2 years. I put covacain in the ear for the last 2 days .It seemed to be improving. However when I put them in tonight she started crying saying it was burning.what di you think u should do we are in a very remote place doctors are 3 hrs away
Some ear drops will make your ear burn or sting when they're first put in. Typically, that's not a cause for concern. However, if the discomfort doesn't go away in 10 to 15 min you can give your daughter a painkiller such as Tylenol to relieve the symptoms.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
