What Causes Burning Sensation In Fingertips Of A Teenager?

Looking for what causes burning fingertips in my 13-year-old daughter, not just a sensation of burning but actual snow-melting heat--sometimes in her feet as well. It happens several to many times every month. She also is often dizzy and has ever-present floaters in her vision. If she stands up suddenly, she has trouble seeing for a full 15 seconds. No doctor we have visited can tie the symptoms together or has even heard of the burning fingertips.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms you mentioned can be due to some vitamin deficiency or of autoimmune itiology. To know the exact reason behind it, proper medical history is necessary and a physical examination as well. I would suggest you visit a rheumatologist or immunologist regarding these symptoms. They might advice some blood tests if necessary. An ophthalmologist’s consultation is also suggested.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Manisha Auradkar, General & Family Physician
