What Causes Burning Sensation In Inner Ear After Usage Of Expired Ear Drops?

I have GPA since 1989 but it has been affecting my ears since 2012. One doctor had been giving me dexamethasone injections through the tm. He has allowed me to continue to administer the med on my own since I have a tube and now hole in the tm. I haven t taken any in a while but tonight decided to. It is burning almost like a chemical burn in my middle to inner ear and there is a little pressure in the peripheral areas. I checked the bottle it expired 02/2015? will this pass? thanks

Hello,

I think you can do lavage to help the remaining drops get out. It is likely to go but you can help using warm water to clean your ears.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
