What Causes Burning Sensation In Lower Abdomen During Pregnancy?
I am 33 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child. Earlier today as I went to lay down I noticed there was a burning sensation in my lower left abdomen, I raised up to catch my breath and the pain increased across my lower abdomen. The pain feels like a burning twisting feeling. I have felt this maybe once or twice before in this pregnancy but never in my previous pregnancies. Sometimes it hurts so bad to where I can t stand up straight and it takes my breath away. Any idea what could be causing this?
Hello, Simple burning sensation of the abdomen can be attributed to the stretching of the skin and this is aggravated if the skin gets drier. Application of olive oil would suffice. Burning sensation along with pain is likely to be due to muscle cramping with or without nerve involvement. Also, sometimes a part of the baby may stretch a part of the abdomen more and lead to such pain. Please ask your consultant to sort out the issue and get proper treatment. Do not exert. Hope this helps.
