I have burning inflamed eyes with redness and my lips also itch. The area around my eyes are dry, red, inflamed and burning. Been on steroids three times in the last 10 months. It keeps flaring up again after I get off steroids. Use vasoline to try and soothe and some elidel. Need some relief. Any idea what could be causing this?
I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that you are having recurrent redness of eyes. Since it is responding to steroids this is probably inflammation of the eye or allergy of the eye. The probable causes are inflammations of the eye like uveitis, episcleritis or allergic conjunctivitis. This requires treatment by the use of anti-inflammatory drugs or anti-allergic drugs depending on the underlying cause. The use of steroids should be limited only to severe condition which is not responding to routine drugs.
Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.
Hope this information is helpful to you.
