What Causes Burning Sensation In Nerves?

Hii My Father is having some nerve problem. He gets burning sensation in nerves, he is loosing his sense or feeling power from his fingers, finger joints gets locked.There is involuntary movement of his hands during night time. Please tell me what kind of disease is this.
