What Causes Burning Sensation In Penis During Urination?

So each time I urinate my penis feels like its burning on the slit of the penis and along the bottom of the penis. I was wondering what is causing this and what can I do to fix this issue. It s been like this for over a year and I m too embarrassed to go to the local doctor.

Hello, greetings! thanks for your query. It sounds like you are having a urinary tract infection. Burning sensation while passing urine can be due to a urinary tract infection or due to sexually transmitted infections. For both of these situations, you need to be treated by antibiotics or else the infection may progress till the kidneys. I would suggest you to go to a local doctor and get a prescription for an antibiotic as he would need to adjust the dose according to your body vitals. you certainly don't have to feel shy about it as your private parts are just like any other part of the body and we doctors are here to help you.
