I had a colonoscopy yesterday, the suggested I eat lightly, but being so hungry I didn t listen but filled up very fast.I have a burning sensation in my stomach and it seems the only relief I get is if I throw up and then chew on a couple of Pepto Bismal chewables.Oh and I forgot to say they removed a polyp. Help it feels horrible..

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have burning sensation in stomach after heavy food intake post colonoscopy. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but in your case the symptoms are due to side effects of colonoscopy . Because sometimes nerve damage occur due to colonoscopy due to which burning sensation occur , it will be resolved in few days after healing of nerve . Sit in tub with warm water for 15 minutes daily and eat some probiotics food . If there will be symptoms like pain , rectal bleeding or abdominal discomfort then consult gastroenterologist for proper examination and treatment .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
