Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Burning Sensation In The Abdomen After Having Food?
I been noticing after I have ate and it could be anything around 30 minutes later my stomach seems to feel some burning sort of like heart burn but not high up. My age is 64 male and normally quite healthy, 20 pounds overweight for sure. Non smoker but I do drink red wine once or twice a week.
You can have gastritis or acid reflux like condition. For that rabeprazole for one or two weeks can be prescribed. Avoid gastric irritants like -Excess spicy foods. -Smoking -Stress. -Excess tea, coffee etcetera. Head elevated while sleeping. If no improvement, then further workup planned after an examination.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Parth Goswami
