What Causes Burning Sensation In The Ankle?

My Ankle feels like it is on fire inside or under the skin! I was check for a blood clot was not that my Dr told me to take aleve for five day and put hot pacts on leg. I did go to a Gym and I put some weights on my ankle a week ago.Can you help me ? YYYY@YYYY
