There are 2 main possibilities, either anal fissures or hemorrhoids (piles). Best to rule out these by visiting a
proctologist, who might do a proctoscopic examination to find the cause. If you generally consume a lot of spicy food, that could also be a cause of burning sensation in the
rectum.
In both anal fissures/piles, the main culprit is poor diet and
constipation. So, include fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet, good fluids, at least 2 litres of water a day. If needed, take a laxative, like Isabgol mixed in a glass of water and consumed immediately.
If all the above are ruled out, it could be a case of proctalgia fugax, a benign condition and nothing to worry about. You could try sitting in a warm sitz bath for 20 minutes or so. Studies and Research are still going on to find out more about proctalgia fugax.
