What Causes Burning Sensation In The Eyes After Swimming In A Child?
12 yr old grandaughter just call me her eyes are burning so bad. she went swimming in a pool around 4;oo pm. now time is 12:30 at nite and she is crying from so much pain to eyes and can t sleep she rinsed eyes after getting out of the pool but burning very bad ,,what to do? Her mother asleep she afraid to wake her ,they live in Texas, I live here in Michigan, she still crying.......
Noted the history about your 12 year old granddaughter having burning sensation in eyes after swimming, has pain also. The commonest cause is obviously the allergic reaction to the materials/chemicals used in swimming pool the sanitize water. Hence I would advise you the following in such a situation: Ask your daughter that mother of your granddaughter to get up and rush her to ER. She may need antihistamine and topical as well as oral/intramuscular shot of steroid. Consult an Ophthalmologist for further evaluation and management. Also inform the swimming pool authority about the same so that they can take of the excessive water treatment or so.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
