What Causes Burning Sensation In The Lungs?

Yesterday I awoke with a heavy burning sensation in my lungs, which throbs every time I inhale robustly, move forward suddenly, or lie on my back.....workers last week laid miles of concrete sealant on the surfaces surrounding my house, and with the heat, the fumes have been toxic....I was wondering if there is a connection....BTW, I had terrible time sleeping.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM.
Such pain described can occur due to direct effects of toxic fumes you inhaled, but it's been a week since you were exposed. After a week, the resulting pulmonary oedema may cause such pain but there not be also other symptoms present like shortness of breath, cough,so chances are less likely.
The pain in your chest can be due to pleuritis or gastroesophageal reflux.
If I were your treating doctor,I would recommend,
-tablet acetaminophen twice a day for 3 days with cap omez once in morning.Avoid anti inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen or naproxen.
- Investigations like Chest Xray ,blood haemogram for diagnosis.
-If you have other symptoms like breathlessness, fever, decreased appetite, cough, report immediately to physician.
Hope this information helps.
Thanks and regards.
