What Causes Burning Sensation In The Mouth After A Septoplasty?

I recently had a septoplasty surgery with turbulent reduction two weeks ago and now my mouth and inner lips feels like it s been burned. My tongue is sore and everything that I eat tastes spicy. What can I do to get relief of this or is there some other issue that I could be dealing with? These symptoms have never been visible prior to the surgery. Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The burning sensation you are having in your mouth is due to tracheal intubation through your mouth when the surgery was carried out.
It will get better in a few days.

Drink plenty of water. Gargle with warm water and salt. Oral antiseptic can help.
Avoid foods or drinks that would aggravate the burning sensation.

Wish fast recovery.
