What Causes Burning Sensation In The Rectum?

I am having trouble with bath soap. After I shower I have a burning sensation on my rectum and slowly gets worse. Going from butt to front. I don t have any trouble on any other part of my body. I ve been using Grandpas baking soda soap for 15 years and it doesn t cause the discomfort. But that soap has been discontinued and every soap I ve tried burns.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, you should visit a dermatologist or allergy specialist and get contact allergens tested, which may be asked in form of a strip attached at the back for 48 hours or injecting small amount subcutaneously.

Medicated soap may be suggested but preferably after dermatologist review. If rectal pain persists, a sigmoidoscopy and surgical review may be needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
