What Causes Burning Sensation In The Thighs After Using Progesterone Cream?

I have been on natural progesterone cream for a few days for perimenopause symptoms. I am taking it in the mornings by puting on my inner thighs. I did fine throughout the day but awoke, again, with a burning sensation in my uterus and thighs where I had put in on. It s very uncomfortable. Is this normal?
