What Causes Burning Sensation In The Throat And Stomach After Taking Levofloxacin And Amoxicillin?
I have had a bad cold two rounds of antiboictic.with use of nasalcort and sudifed .now I have really bad burning in throat and all the way To my stomach.i have tryed riteaide malox but it still returns.the antibiotics were levofloxacin and amoxicilin
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
As per your complain burning in throat and chest after taking antibiotics can be due to acid reflux caused secondary to hyperacidity that is commonly seem after taking antibiotics.. As the acid from stomach might have entered food pipe and throat it can burn the mucosa leading to inflammation and burning.. I would suggest you to take proton pump inhibitors like Omeprazole, antacids like milk of magnesia or calcium carbonate, avoid spicy food, take more of probiotics like Yoghurt in diet, drink plenty of water and take small portions of food every 2 hours.. In case of no improvement consult a Gastroenterologist and get evaluated..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
