What Causes Burning Sensation In The Vagina Post Intercourse?
I have a burning sensation when I have sex and don t enjoy it. I am a 50 yr old lady and have had no periods for 10 yrs. after sex the burning sensation continues for two or three day. My husband and I are married for 22 yrs love each other but I don t enjoy sex anymore due to this
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Burning sensation you are experiencing post intercourse is mainly because of post-menopausal dryness and inadequate lubrication of your vagina. This occurs because of estrogen production slows down and stops during menopause. Lack of vaginal moisture can have a huge impact on your sex life. You can go for the following options to overcome this problem you are facing in consultation with Gynecologist. 1. Vaginal estrogen ring/tablet/creams as hormone replacement therapy. 2. Lubricants (water-based) or moisturizer use. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
