What Causes Burning Sensation In Throat Along With Acidic Taste In Mouth?
I was awoken immediately in deep sleep by an urge to vomit. I woke up and the urge became worse, but I can't vomit. I have a severe burning sensation in my throat, very acidic taste in my mouth, saliva, etc. I tried drinking some water and it made it worse. It is now subsiding a little after roughly 15 mins. Is this a super bad case of indigestion? I did have corn chips and salsa 2 hrs before bedtime, but I've done that before.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
As per your complain there have been hyperacidity leading to acid reflux.. The acid from stomach has regurgitated in your throat and mouth and burning and acidic taste is due to it..
In case if it has occurred for the first time and it is improving then you need not to worry as it will subside soon.. You can take Proton pump inhibitors like Pantoprazole or Omeprazole.. You can take antacid like Digene twice a day half an hour before sleep.. Drink plenty of water and take more of probiotics like Yoghurt.. Avoid spicy and acidic foods.. Take walk after meals. Take small frequent meals and avoid taking heavy meals.. Do it for 5 days and you will be alright by then..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
