What Causes Burning Sensation In Throat And Nose After Taking Sertraline?
I ve just taken my sertraliane and about 20 mins later my nose started burning and then my throat. The pain is horrendous. I ve drank lots of water to the point where I m sick. My heart has stated racing I feel drowsy, like I m about to loose contioness and wanting to be sick
I can understand your concern. It seems that you have developed a severe allergic reaction to the medicine you have taken.
I would advise you to take an antihistamine such as Loratidine 10 mg (Lorfast) immediately and wait for some time for symptoms to resolve or decrease. If it does not, then visit Emergency Care or a physician as soon as possible as severe allergic reaction may be lethal and may need to be treated with steroids.
If the condition improves with antihistamine, continue taking it once a day for another 4 days.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
