What Causes Burning Sensation On Fingertips?

I have burning in my fingertips. It is like I burned myself on the oven racks or with jalapeno juice. It is a deep burn. It is worse when I wash my hands or get my hands wet, whether the water is cold or warm. is this a sign or symptom of anything specific?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor services.
I have read your query and here is my advise.

* Burning sensation on finger tips is due to injury and hypersensitivity
of the receptors of temperature sensitivity and pain sensation from
burns.

* Following would be most helpful for better recovery

- local dressing with sterile wet saline gauze and silver sulfadiazine
- analgesic as ibuprofen and paracetamol
- antibiotic as Penicillin or Cephalosporins for faster recovery
- balanced nutritious diet
- multi vitamins with vitamin C for smooth recovery

Wish you best recovery.
Regards.
