What Causes Burning Sensation On The Knee Cap?
2 days ago I was kneeling in dirt, probably some rotten roots as well, digging out an old pipe (I was wearing shorts). Since then, directly below my kneecap and slightly to the right (my left knee) I get a burning sensatin similar to fire ants biting. I ve used calamine lotion the last 2 days, but no success; also, I can feel the same sensation shooting on and off as I walk, not always, but often enough to notice. There is no swelling, bruising, nor can I tell if there is any skin inflammation. Perhaps the beginning stage of a meniscus problem?

Hi,
Your symptoms seem to be related to the inflamed meniscus.
I suggest you use anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen.
You can also use an anti-inflammatory cream such also said Voltaren cream for local relief.
Cool compresses can also relieve the symptoms.
