What Causes Burning Sensation On The Scalp After Application Of Salicylic Acid?

Hello, I applied 17% salycilic acid on my head head in order to remove an unknown bump, and after 1 minute it started to burn. Hopefully it is not severe as I immediately removed it with water. As I have no medical insurance, I was wondering what I can do to ensure minimal scarring. Thank you.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The cause for burning after application of salicylic acid is salicylic acid itself. kindly do not apply it without the doctor advice on its application. Kindly do apply for further scarring.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr MD AAMIR SOHAIL, General Surgeon
