Hello,

Burning sensation in the mouth is commonly due to change in the hormonal levels, eating food too hot, infection, dry mouth, allergies, medications, mouth infection, acid reflux etc. Avoid taking acidic & citrus food. Limit consumption of spicy food & hot beverages, change your toothpaste. Since you have history of pharyngitis you are suggested to do warm saline gargle 2-3 times a day. Take anti inflammatory medications for relief. Get clinically examined by an ENT, you may need antibiotics. Get oral swab test, blood test, allergy test, salivary flow tests done. Get treated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Yogapriya Vasudevan, General & Family Physician
