Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain it seems that you have a BURNING MOUTH SYNDROME and it is characterized by burning sensation on the tongue and it can also affect other mucous membranes like gums, inner cheeks, inner lips, palate and throat..

The soreness in throat can also be due to this as in burning mouth syndrome mostly there is dryness of mouth and throat which can cause soreness and discomfort..

Burning mouth syndrome can occur due to a number of causes the most common of which is a dry mouth which is caused due to a number of reasons like certain medications, salivary gland disfunctions, allergies, cancer treatment, Sjogrens syndrome etc..

It can also be due to nutritional deficiencies like iron, vitamin, zinc, folic acid etc.
It can also be due to infections like thrush or candidiasis, lichen planus etc.
It can be due to acid reflux, diabetes ,hypothyroidism, wearing dentures, teeth grinding habit, use of certain medicines like those to reduce blood pressure..

I would suggest you to consult an oral pathologist and get evaluated and proper investigations are to be done to rule out the exact cause for Burning mouth and if it is dry mouth Saliva substitutes containing methyl cellulose can be instilled in mouth to lubricate..

Saliva stimulants like sour candies, sugar free chewing gums and lemon can help in stimulating saliva..
Pilocarpine is the drug used to stimulate the glands to increase saliva flow..
Drink plenty of water preferably cold to reduce burning as well as maintain hydration..
Avoid hot and spicy food..

Hope this information helps..
